Wheel Balancing
Wheel balancing is the process of equalizing the weight of the tire and wheel assembly so that it spins smoothly and does not vibrate.
When a tire is mounted on a wheel, the weight of the tire and wheel assembly is not evenly distributed. This can cause the tire to vibrate, which can be felt as a shaking in the steering wheel, seat, or floorboard of the vehicle.
Wheel balancing involves placing the tire and wheel assembly on a machine that spins the assembly to determine where the weight is not evenly distributed.
Weights are then added to the wheel to balance it. This helps to ensure that the tire and wheel assembly spins smoothly, which can improve the ride quality of the vehicle and extend the life of the tires.
Whenever you install a fresh set of tyres, your tyre shop operator will most definitely perform wheel balancing and alignment. Of course, it always comes at an extra cost.
